Description
A few tools are mandatory if you plan on cutting fine joinery by hand, and a well-made tenon saw is one of them. This is a workhorse backsaw — far more precise and agile than a panel saw but faster and aggressive than a dovetail saw — and its weighty brass back powers your cut and ensures a dead-straight blade through the most temperamental softwoods or the hardest exotic tropical hardwoods.
The 14” Tenon Saw excels at cutting its namesake joints, of course, and can be employed to cut boards to length, create dados, or cut miters with the aid of a miter box (or without, if you’re feeling brave!). Ours is filed crosscut with a relatively fine 15tpi, resulting in a cleaner finished surface.
The Garrett Wade Difference
Produced by Thomas Flinn in Sheffield, England, the tenon saw lives up to the legacy of this hallowed tool-producing borough. The beech handle features solid brass screws, and the blade depth is 3 ⅛”. Like all of our tools, the tenon saw is built with quality in mind so that they can last for decades.

"Beautiful saw."
"Beautiful craftsmanship with workhorse of a saw. It will last generations. This saw is filed crosscut, which is quite limiting for a tenon saw. It'd be great if Pax would offer a rip filing."
"Great saw. Very sharp. Wood buy again."
"Used the saw once. Seems stable when sawing. No complaints."
"I returned it."
"The saw was No where near as sharp as I hoped that it would be. Other than that, I love it"
"Had a need for bigger hand saw that was always sharp & traveled well. This fit my need."
"This saw handle fits my hand great, it is heavy, and no downward pressure is needed when cutting. Craftsman ship is great, very sharp out of the box. This saw wants to cut straight, so the tooth set is very good. Every thing I would want in a bench tenon saw."
